Country：  Korea When I arrived at Australia, I was filled with self-confidence.I believed I didn't need to go to a language school because I had been studying English for 2 years with native speakers (American, Canadian) and I thought that would be enough to live in this country. However it was really stupid thinking, it was just my own opininion.
On my first day in Sydney, in the airport I had already confirmed I was stupid.One of the officials in the airport asked me about something, after 3 repetitions I could finally understand what she meant.The question was "Do you like swimming?".In the airplane I had written my occupation on my landing card as swimming instructor. It was just beginning.Many people couldn't understand what I was saying and of course I couldn't understand what they were saying either. although they and I were both speaking English!!!
I became afraid of going outside. I was disappointed in myself, because my expectations were big, my disappointment was big too. I started to look for a language school, Lloyds, Greenwich, La lingua, Ace etc. I had got a level test in almost all the famous language schools. But I didn't want to learn grammar(of course it is very very very important to speak English). I needed more opportunities to speak English and someone who would fix my pronunciation and Mentor Education recommended J.E.C to me.
The system at J.E.C was proper to me, no, it was perfect for me, it was just the job. I have been able to get more opportunities to speak in English, they have fixed my pronunciation moreover they have taught useful expressions to me. And repetition makes me to be used to speaking English (Real English!).
I don't think my English is perfect and I don't think J.E.C's system is perfect either. In J.E.C there are something that cannot satisfy me. First there aren't various nationalities, it is about 80% Japanese 15% Korean 5% etc... I couldn't get enough chance to speak with various nationalities. Secondly sometimes teachers used to only focus on the book. I wanted to get more open talking therefore I had to make that circumstance myself. Except for this it was perfect for me. The teachers are so kind and they answered my questions whenever I asked. English is a language, if you want to improve your English you have to speak. Even if it is grammatically wrong.
J.E.C just provides you more opportunities to speak rather than other schools but that's not enough, you must make more and more chances in any circumstance. If you want to speak real English J.E.C would be a smart choice but, don't be satisfied with smart choice, make it a perfect choice. Country： Korea When I first arrived in Australia, I had an extremely fun time and enjoyed talking in English. I was talking like crazy with no hesitation whatsoever. I had a chance to participate in the lesson of Callan Method which gave me a shock. If I hadn’t studied with the Callan Method I would never have been able to tell the subtle differences in pronunciation in my life, these would probably be difficult to realize later on.
In classes, the teachers fixed my pronunciation problems which I had known about already. But they also helped me to fix the problems that I did not know that I had. For example, the difference between 'rice' and 'lice', even if I am not quite perfect now, at least I am more careful and aware.
In the Callan Method all pronunciation is emphasised I was surprised and could clearly understand where I was going wrong. I feel more confident with my speaking because the teachers worked so hard with me making me realise my mistakes.
Not only that. At first I did not catch the teacher's question because the native teacher’s speaking was too quick. Later, I had many times had to check what was really said and it was easy to see in writing in the text, but a couple of weeks went by; I could catch and understood all questions asked quickly. I could actually tell the increase in my hearing skill. I enjoy the lesson every day. My negative feelings and rejection of studying English I always had back in South Korea for more than 20 years was gone after few weeks studying in JEC.
I used be a student who had no concentration and would always think about something else. The course was the only one made me stay awake during 50 minutes of class time. In the Callan Method if you lose concentration for few seconds you will be attacked by a quick question immediately by native teachers. ^ ^;
It is my big hope for everyone who comes abroad to study English, should study in proper course. I strongly recommend them to study at JEC. I would like them to experience what I gained within few weeks. We won’t be able to fix our pronunciation if no one points to us.
 
Country： Korea Before coming to Australia, I thought I was going to find local jobs upon arrival. I thought it was the smart idea and a quick way of learning English while earning money. I went out with friends from various countries where English is spoken. I even had some confidence speaking English before. However, it did not take a long to break my confidence.
When I arrived in Sydney I had to come through Immigration at the airport. I did not understand what they said to me, even basic questions. No answers came after all. I thought my English was so miserable and it disappointed me badly.
In hindsight, all of my foreign friends in Korea tried to keep me understanding the conversation by speaking slower and using easier words.
Later, I went to visit a lot of English schools in Sydney. I chose JEC from many schools. The Callan Method is focused on speaking and listening. I was perplexed in the beginning answering questions asked at a fast-speed by native teachers in one on one situation. I made an excellent choice in choosing an effective English school. I am not the type of a person who can concentrate on studying, but Callan Method teachers kept me in class, full of concentration all the time. After 3 months of studying, I am looking forward to getting a job locally and earning money as I wanted.

I chose JET English College by chance, and I didn't know too much about the school.
I wasn't sure if I was going to like this school, but after a while I realized that it was a great school with a really friendly team.
I really liked the Callan Method because you can improve your English by just repeating sentences without doing homework!!!!
The teachers are funny and they helped me a lot by answering my thousands of questions. Thank you to all of the teachers and also the Japanese staff who were great.
 
Country：  Switzerland The classes are small, so everyone has plenty of opportunities to speak English. The best thing is that you always speak to the teachers who help you to improve your speaking, instead of speaking with other students.
The grammar takes just a small part but still takes its part during the lessons. The books have a good structure.
I really enjoyed the time with my classmates, and the teachers are good and innovative in teaching. Thank you JEC!
 
Country：  Thailand I, Buabucha SAWANGWONG or known as "Mel", must say that I am very impressed with JET English College as they have given me such a warm welcome.
All the teachers and staff here at JET are very friendly which makes me feel comfortable and able to enjoy learning English. The teachers change every hour which allows me to experience a wide variety of English speaking people and the wide variety of ways of learning English.
I never get bored of the lessons as the teachers try hard to make every student join in the activities such as discussion times.
At first I found it hard to understand some of my fellow classmates and teachers as they spoke really fast, but eventually the teachers realised that I had troubles and would talk really slowly and allow me time to think which helps me a lot.
The Callan Method system is different from general English teaching. I have to speak, ask questions and answer questions without thinking in the Thai language as well as using the correct pronunciations. I believe that my English skills have developed so much ever since I have attended JET English College.
I also got the chance to meet lots of other international students who are learning English too. I've made many friends from other countries such as Japan and Korea. JET English College has the perfect environment for students who are less then confident about their English as all the teachers, staff and other students all help you learn English in a very short amount of time. If I have the chance, I would definitely come here again.

Country： Italia We really enjoyed the company of all the staff, the teachers are friendly and able to satisfy our every curiosity.
The method is very efficient; it allows you to improve your grammar, your pronunciation, but most of all your vocabulary.
Repeating the sentences everyday can sound a little boring, but the trick is to try to change your answers and push yourself!!!
The school is a wonderful place to meet people from other cultures, and a great way to share knowledge about your culture and to learn about others.
 
Country：  Taiwan Most of the students in Taiwan learn a lot of grammar, reading, and writing, and, the weakness is always listening and speaking.
However, it seems to be difficult to solve this problem in a normal general English course.
I had never heard about the Callan Method before, but after the trial, I realized that the Callan Method is just what I need.
So, I made the decision to choose JET.
In the class the teacher talks as quick as a normal Australian, so we can get used to the fast speaking speed.
With different teachers in each class the students can learn how to understand different accents.
Also, the teacher corrects your pronunciation immediately if you make any mistakes.
Therefore, I feel my listening and speaking has improved a lot in a short time.
I am happy that I could find JET, and it will be a good choice for you as well.
在台灣大部份的學生學英文，都會注重文法和讀寫，聽和說往往是大家的弱點。
然而，在一般的英文課程中，似乎不容易加強此方面的能力。之前我從來沒聽過Callen Method這種教學方式，在試聽後，我了解這種方式正是我需要的，所以決定選擇JET。
課堂上，老師不會特別放慢說話的速度，以便於我們能習慣快速的英文對話。且每堂課都由不同的老師來敎授，讓學生可以去適應各種不同的口音。
再者，如果發音不正確，老師也會立即糾正。因此，我發現自己的英文聽說在短時間內進步很多。我很高興自己能在這邊學英文，相信也會是你最好的選擇。
 
Country：  Brazil I was doing General English at another school, but I felt I could not
improve my speaking and listening skills as much as I wanted. So I came to
JET English and my English is much better now because of these three
reasons:
1) Here I have the opportunity to practice speaking English directly with
the teacher, not with other students all the time during the class.
2) My pronunciation mistakes are corrected instantly when I make them.
3) The speed of the class is very fast, so I did not have time to translate
and I have to think in English.
Because of the things I wrote above, I am happy with my improvement at JET
English College.

Since I was in Sydney, I knew that I have been in an environment to expose myself
to English. However, I was struggling with the process of thinking
in Japanese first and then constructing an English structure next.
There was no easy way out, but I found an advertisement of JEC, and
that rings my bell.
After having learned English at JEC for two weeks, I could easily
feel that I became better at listening. Even a month later, I could
hear other people saying that my pronunciation is good, and more
importantly, I started to receive the compliments of “my English
is good.”
After while, I was aware of the fact that I no longer did the translating
process mentioned above. I convinced the change in my linguistic
way of thinking from Japanese to English.
You will be taught by a different teacher every hour and every teacher
I met taught me passionately, carefully, and humorously. I had no
doubt that the pedagogy of it
was absolutely innovative.
Unlike all the positive points I mentioned above, how to acquire
all the English skills and how and what to apply them to the life
depend on me.
I believe I am making my best efforts, but I am looking forward to
seeing more progression in me and for the rest of one and half months,
I will make more efforts to become better. |

I have heard the name of “Callan Method” but I had no chance to know the content
of it.
In fact, it was my first time to meet Callan method in my 10 years-history
of English studies. When I participated in the trial lesson, I could
not ride on the wave of the lesson and got lost in a way, but this
way of teaching I first experienced comes deep in my mind and decided
to take classes at here in JEC. The class takes only 3 hours a day,
but it requires serious concentration, and I can gain the feeling
of achievement after the intense 3 hours. Furthermore, we repeat
same content over and over, and this makes me nothing but confident
in answering in English. Moreover, teacher does not enunciate for
international students, so I can become accustomed to “real English”;
I could feel my utmost improvement of listening outside the classroom.
The most thankful aspect for JEC is that I could make my pronunciation
crystal clear, which was my weakest point, and the teachers corrected
my pronunciation repeatedly. The school is not that big compared
to those mammoth schools of which you may give some names, but the
school and the staffs are very friendly and welcoming.
I could only be there for a month, but it was worthwhile. If I had
a chance to come to Australia, I will surely go for it again. I still
remember the days at JEC and appreciate for the help of everyone
there. |

 I think My English has been somewhat improved since I started to attend to JEC.
Even though I felt the tuition is not reasonable, it is valuable
and worth taking classes once you achieve somewhat level of English;
all you need is motivation. I would recommend this institution if
you have not decided to go a particular language school. I appreciate
JEC that even when I am speaking Japanese and some borrowed-words
came out of my mouth, it sounds absolutely English without my intention.
When I was aware of my behavior above, I thought I became an Australian.
Thank JEC for making myself an Australian naturally. |

It is inevitable for everyone to confront with the feeling of inability of speaking
English. In fact, when I was at a language institution, my teacher
told me “I cannot understand your Japanese English.” Since then,
I had had an inferiority complex in English. At the time I was inferior
for English, I found JEC and had a bite of the class, but still I
was wondering if I could be any better by taking classes at JEC.
I actually took some trial lessons at some other institutions, and
this experience made me aware of the fact that there is no other
school like JEC which provides many opportunities to speak in English
as well as to correct pronunciations. At present, I am simply satisfied
with what JEC has done for me. It might be too early to determine
how good I can be with JEC because it has not been so long since
I started to take classes at JEC; however, I am telling and convincing
myself that with JEC, I can give myself innovation of learning communicative
English and superior pronunciation. Once you take classes at JEC,
you cannot avoid saying “JEC is it!!!” which I think is common feelings
for the students at JEC. You better take it! |

 By learning at JEC, what made me surprised at first was improvement of my listening
ability. Simultaneously, I studied TOEIC and took the test, and then
I was sunned by my scores on TOEIC; the best score that I have ever
had in my life. With small numbers of students and opportunities
to speak directly with teacher with its mother tongue, I could feel
all students were passionately attempting to learn English and respond
to teachers as the teachers were powerfully and impressively speaking
to the students.
The environment of the class is bright and stylish. Particular point
that I liked was that when I looked at outside from the window, I
could see the roof of QVB, which always made me think the class is
very stylish. It is hardly possible to speak like native English
speakers, but I could easily be exposed to English at JEC. I could
speak English more than anywhere else and, as a result, I could naturally
learn respond what I am supposed to say in any situation. Another
point I loved was that teachers are different at each class. Every
teacher here is very cheerful and respectful, and they led me to
having accurate pronunciation. Clear statement with fascinating gesture
and rhythm; you can find this only at JEC. I had a really fun at
JEC, and I am planning on coming back to Sydney in order to take
some more classes at JEC! |

| I attended to one of the major school in Australia, and I have had a big question
holding in my mind since then: Why are there no correction of conversation
among students and why do they do activities that can be done after
school? However, at JEC, you have an interaction with the lecturer
so that you do not keep going with incorrect sentences among students.
Even though it was only a three-hour long class, we repeat the speech
in which I had some errors, and I could, thus, pronounce better and
feel the intensity of the class. My impression on JEC is valuable
and attractive with no obligation or duty, and also, the teachers
are very passionate at teaching. |

With the 2nd Year Working Holiday Visa and through some thoughts on learning
English, I have come the decision of focusing on speaking ability;
thus, I decided to take a trail lesson at JEC.
At first, I was shocked at how different is to learn at JEC from
other language institutions. However, the difference made my learning
so effective that I could easily hear what the native English speakers
speak very easily by implementing accurate pronunciation in my ears.
I am convinced that at JEC students can improve the English ability
of not only speaking but also listening.
In recent, a British friend of mine who used to work together at
farm for fruit picking visited me in Sydney, and he was amazed by
my English improvement because I could understand what he was saying
in the conversation even though he was speaking as if he were speaking
in English to his native English friends. Actually, I was the one
who was surprised at most with such a short term of lessons at JEC.
It really is great to have the confidence and result of the lessons
at JEC. |

 For three months, I had participated in a language institute, but I did not think
my English ability was sharpened as much as I had expected. With
little bit of the disappointment, I was seeking for some other institutions
to brush up my English ability. Through the thought above, I ended
up putting myself in JEC. This institution has provided me many chances
to speak as well as to correct my pronunciation so that I feel I
am getting better in my speaking. I just started taking classes at
JEC, so I cannot specifically see what is going to come at the end
of the term, but hopefully, at the end, JEC helps not only my speaking
but also my writing skills productive, and I would love to keep taking
courses at JEC as long as it provides me fruitful results. |

 JEC surely changed my thought on English, although I, at the beginning, was not certain for how JEC effectively improves my English; I was suspicious of its slogan, think in English. With the doubtful thought of mine and the different learning method of JEC, it took for a while to become accustomed to JEC, but at the third week, I became a hang of it, and I could learn English joyfully. I honestly think that I would love to attend this school more to improve my English. |

 I have been, for long, looking for a language institution with concentrating
dramatically on speaking due to lack of my improvement in speaking,
particularly pronunciation. During the time I was in the search,
I was lucky enough to find that JEC was launched, and then I had
a trial which convinced me that this is the school for which I have
been searching. The class at JEC went by as fast as the native English
speaks. Even though the speed of class is little overwhelming, my
inspiration tells me that I can improve my speaking English with
this class. Actually, before taking the class, I honestly doubt of
how effective this would work, yet obviously, I am smooched with
this method. There is no way out when taking a class, so the students
need massive amount of concentration, but this is the reason why
this pedagogy is so attractive. I strongly recommend JEC for the
students who would like to improve their speaking ability in a short
length of time. |

| Class with Callan method is very unique and different from classes at other institutions,
particularly in speaking. In fact, the quantity of the time the students
speak in the class is larger than any other language institutions.
The most impressive point is that all we do is simply a lot of listening
and speaking repeatedly. The experienced and well disciplined teachers
of native English speakers instantly and accurately correct our pronunciation,
and a class consists of small numbers of students so that it is not
much different from taking a private one on one lesson. At the first
class, I felt little overwhelmed with the fast pace of speaking,
yet by listening repeatedly, I can catch phrases naturally, and this
is the point which made me amazed at most. As a matter of fact, I
could take 3 weeks only, but the class was so fun that I would absolutely
love to take the course next time I come back to Australia. |
